The best unit is the one that solves the map you cannot clear. Until Mera publishes a complete stat sheet, a precise named ranking would mix patches, traits, and unverified community claims. This tier list ranks performance roles so you can place every live unit into the right band after a fair test.
Tier list at a glance
Ranking criteria
- Clear reliability: the same setup should survive repeatedly, not only after lucky timing.
- Cost to come online: a spectacular maximum upgrade matters less if you lose before buying it.
- Coverage: area damage, range, and attack pattern decide how much of the path receives damage.
- Boss value: later stages need a way to damage durable targets while keeping normal waves controlled.
- Team fit: support and control must improve the actual carry, not merely look strong in isolation.
- Trait dependence: a unit that needs an extremely rare trait to function should rank below an equally effective unit that works naturally.
Make your own named tier list in ten minutes
Choose the hardest stage you can enter. Run it twice with the current lineup, then replace only one unit. Keep placement order and upgrade budget as similar as possible. If the replacement lets you stabilize earlier, prevents the first leak, or removes the boss failure, move it up. If it only produces a bigger late-game number after the stage was already safe, do not overrank it.
What to prioritize now
The July build has reached Fairy Forest and carries a 7DS update tag. Treat newly rolled theme units as Watch until they prove their value on World 9 or raids. Your established carry remains S-tier for your account if it clears content the new pull cannot.
